Wednesday, 3rd Sept 2014, 6:36 PM Irrfan Khan-starrer 'Qissa' is all set to release in India on September 26 having gained worldwide recognition and appreciation at major film festivals.
The movie revolves around India's partition with the backdrop of 1947 set in. The film narrates the story of Umber Singh, a Sikh, attempting to forge a new life for his family while keeping their true identities a secret from their community.
Directed by Anup Singh, the film is an international co-production between India, Germany, Netherlands and France and the first to be shot under the Indian-German co-production treaty.
Funding for the film was secured from the National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC), the Dutch Film Fund, Eurimage and German funds Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg and North Rhine Westphalia(NRW).
The starcast of the film includes Tillotama Shome, Rasika Duggal, Tisca Chopra apart from Irrfan. The film will be released under PVR Director's Rare. |
