And now he has taken up another big ticket project – a love story to be co-produced by Karan Johar and business partners Farhan Akhtar-Ritesh Sidhwani.
The film is reportedly about a time-traveler and will be helmed by debutante Nitya Mehra. Confirming the news, Ritesh Sidhwani told a popular daily, “Yes, Sidharth is on board and Karan too. Karan is a good friend and we’ve been talking about collaborating on a film for quite some time now.”
Apparently, Karan got involved when he heard the story from Sidharth. Ritesh informs, “He heard about this film from Sid and asked us for the script. He loved it so much that he said he would be happy to get involved in any capacity. Farhan and I have never co-produced before, Karan is our first partner.” We have heard that superstar Aamir Khan was offered the film earlier but the actor and the makers of the film did not agree on the remuneration. Later Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone’s names were also thrown in; but Sidhwani clarifies, “There was a lot of speculation about the cast but this is the first time we are confirming a name. The leading lady should be locked in another four-five days and the film will roll by April 2015.” |
