Film will be almost out in 2nd week and it will struggle to reach even 7 cr nett lifetime. Though its a good total for such film but still high marketing cost should have brought more people in.

MARGARITA WITH A STRAW Remains Below Par Despite Good Word Of Mouth

Bollywood films have disappointed and no big films made impact in last 6 months though kind of off beat films like ''Badlapur'', ''NH 10'' and ''Dum Laga Ke Haisha'' did well at box office. Now its turn of ''Margarita With A Straw'' to reap benefits at box office.

FIlm opened to bad numbers of 5% and that was below expectations as it was supposed to open around 15% with limited screening and exceptional word of mouth. Film was expected to grow as good reviews poured in. Film was so poor that even premium centers like Mumbai, Bnagalore and Mysore were less than 15%. Film jumped from evening onwards but writing was on the wall.

Film collected 50 lakhs nett on day one which is extremely poor and even growth over weekend could take it to close to 2 cr nett somewhat similar to what was expected. Even on day two, film continued to struggle and collected 72 lakhs nett. Film added 90 lakhs nett on Sunday and thus film remained below par throughout weekend. Film dropped heavily on weekdays and collected 35 lakhs nett on Monday and 30 lakhs nett on Tuesday.

Film has total of 2.77 cr nett in five days and now film is heading for 3.25 cr nett week which is rather disappointing total. Film will be almost out in 2nd week and it will struggle to reach even 7 cr nett lifetime. Though its a good total for such film but still high marketing cost should have brought more people in.
