Detailed Analysis:
Anand L Rai gave two hits in 'Tanu Weds Manu' and 'Raanjhanaa'. Now he is back with sequel of his hit film.
The film starts where first installment ended. Tanu and Manu are married couple now living in London. Both visit psychiatrist to sort out their differences in order to save their marriage. But this session takes an ugly turn when Dr Manu Sharma (R Madhavan) gets admitted in mental asylum and Tanu (Kanagna Ranaut) happily takes trip back to Kanpur. Manu gets out of hospital when Pappi (Deepak Dobariyal) comes to London to take him out. Manu comes back to India and is planing to go to Chandigarh in order to settle marriage of Pappi to his girlfriend Komal. On other hand, Tanu applies for divorce and this really jolts Manu. In Delhi, Manu spots Datto/Kusum (Kangana Ranaut) who looks somewhat similar to Tanu. Manu falls for Kusum, a national level athlete from Haryana and after a while Kusum reciprocates same feeling after being reluctant initially. Then there is Raja Awasthi (Jimmy Shergill) who is now planning to get married to Kusum and he is again crossing sword with Manu. What will happen when Tanu arrives at the wedding of Manu and Kusum form the climax of the film. Performance wise Kangana Ranaut is superb with honest act and such a different act in both the roles. Its easily one of his best acts, better than 'Queen! Watch out for sequence when he confronts R Madhvan before his marriage! R Madhavan is good though he is monotonous character to play. Deepak Dobariyal is simply hilarious with some of the best lines, Jimmy Shergill has not much to do this time around still he is good, Zeeshan Ayyub repeats himself from 'Raanjhanaa', Ejaaj Khan and Swara Bhaskar are good too. All supporting actor like K K Raina, Rajesh Sharma are too good. s Film has such a lucid script, some two - three dozens clapworthy lines and emotional plot. Writer Himanshu Sharma deserves special mention for lifting the film. Music is good especially two songs 'Ghani Baawri' and 'Banno tera sweater' look too good on screen. Cinematography and production design make sure that small towns look colorful and lively.
Director Anand L Rai scores third super hit film in a row. All three films are based in Uttar Pradesh and all three are very emotional love story with least frills. He is another master of romance for sure. Film will release tomorrow and it should take a flying start due to exciting promos, Kanagana Ranaut factor and sequel edge. Film has very good chances at box office as there is not much competition because both 'Gabbar Is Back' and 'Piku' had good run and for two weeks this film can dominate box office. And with such content, good reviews and word of mouth can take it to new heights.
Go for this one for perfect family outing! |
