GABBAR IS BACK Had Good Weekend Of 38 Cr Nett Plus

Bollywood films have disappointed and no big films made impact in last 6 months except ''PK''. This year not a single mainstream masala Bollywood film worked and to make situation worse Hollywood biggies ''Fast & Furious 7'' and ''Avengers Age Of Ultron'' over-performed. Now flow of big Bollywood releases started with Akshay Kumar starrer ''Gabbar Is Back'' which has scored fairly good weekend.

''Gabbar Is Back'' has opened in 3000 screens and this kind of release coupled with holiday on Friday means that film should cross 10 cr nett mark bare minimum. Ideally collection target of the film was 15 cr nett mark which would had brought confidence back to trade. But still film collected good 13.05 cr nett on Friday. Film will be aided by again on Monday due to bank holiday.

Film started slowly on Saturday in morning but film again performed well from evening onwards especially in smaller towns and non metros. Film collected 11.36 cr nett on day two and that was very good considering rather modest day one. Film was again strong in single screens and managed very good 15.00 cr nett which is higher than Friday. Film is weak in metros and high end multiplexes which might prove crucial in long run.

Film has crossed 39.41 cr nett over weekend. Marathi film ''Timepass 2'' again took away at least 3 cr nett from ''Gabbar Is Back'' over weekend. Now film has to drop less than 35% -40% on Monday in order to target 100 cr nett lifetime. Still good week one of 65 cr nett looks certain.
