Friday, 8th May 11:15 AM IST GABBAR IS BACK Finishes Week One With Good Numbers Bollywood films have disappointed and no big films made impact in last 6 months except ''PK''. This year not a single mainstream masala Bollywood film worked and to make situation worse Hollywood biggies ''Fast & Furious 7'' and ''Avengers Age Of Ultron'' over-performed. Now flow of big Bollywood releases started with Akshay Kumar starrer ''Gabbar Is Back'' which has scored fairly good week one. ''Gabbar Is Back'' opened in 3000 screens and this kind of release coupled with holiday on Friday means that film should cross 10 cr nett mark bare minimum. Ideally collection target of the film was 15 cr nett mark which would had brought confidence back to trade. But still film collected good 13.05 cr nett on Friday. Film will be aided by again on Monday due to bank holiday. Film started slowly on Saturday in morning but film again performed well from evening onwards especially in smaller towns and non metros. Film collected 11.36 cr nett on day two and that was very good considering rather modest day one. Film was again strong in single screens and managed very good 15 cr nett which is higher than Friday. Film is weak in metros and high end multiplexes which might prove crucial in long run. On Monday, film improved in multiplexes and though single screen saw some drop, overall film had fairly good Monday. Film dropped by only 40% and collected 6.75 cr nett. Film collected 5 cr nett on Tuesday, 4.50 cr nett on Wednesday and 4.20 cr nett on Thursday. This is a good trend and if film maintains this over 2nd weekend then it can get on to get hit tag. Film has crossed 59.86 cr nett in week one. Marathi film ''Timepass 2'' again took away at least 5 cr nett from ''Gabbar Is Back''. Still good 2nd week can take it close to 85-90 cr nett lifeitme. Film collected 9.50 cr over weekend in overseas which was almost similar to Akshay Kumar starrers like ''Holiday'' and ''Entertainment''. Below are the collections for the film -
