DIL DHADAKANE DO Had Decent Weekend

This year rustic and ''desi'' films like ''NH 10'', ''Badlapur'', ''Dum Laga Ke Haisha'', ''Piku'' and ''Tanu Weds Manu Returns'' worked big time at box office. Now ''Dil Dhadakane Do'' is the biggest urban release of 2015 and it has potential to cross 100 cr nett if content gets appreciation similar to ''Zindagi Na Milegi Doobara'', last Zoya Akhtar film.

DDD released in 2300 screens yesterday and film is targeted towards multiplex and urban markets. Film took a decent start in Mumbai, Bangalore and Pune but was weak in territories like Rajasthan, CP and CI. Film was supposed to grow for sure from evening onwards but film remained just good over weekend due to poor show outside metro.

Film collected 10.53 cr nett on day one which was good but was little below expectations. Film was expected to jump big in the region of 40-50% but it grew around 25% with 12.27 cr nett on Saturday. Film collected 14.25 cr nett on Sunday with again marginal growth.

Film has total of37.05  cr nett in three days and this is a decent total as film needs now super solid weekdays in order to make an impact. Urban film should not drop more than 25% otherwise it will find difficult from here onwards for good lifetime total. Film is mind blowing in overseas with 3.5 million $  opening and it will be highest grossing in overseas market in first 6 months.
