AURANGZEB Finishes Day One With Below Par Numbers

 

"Aurangzeb" was never expected to take a flying start going by the poor response to music and minimal promotion. But worrisome fact is that film did not grow in evening despite poor morning.

Film recorded 15-20% opening and though it was expected to grow in evening but that did not turn out well. Film was somewhat better in north and central India but otherwise film was poor in bigger circuits like Maharashtra and Mysore.

As per early estimates, film should collect 3.75 cr nett on day one though improved late night shows can take it 15-20% higher especially in multiplexes. Other Bollywood release "I Don''t Luv U" was washout with collections remained less than 12-15 lakhs.

"The Reluctant Fundamentalist" and "The Great Gatsby" did not perform well due to poor reviews. Animation film "Epic" was average in high end multiplexes taking advantage of summer vacation.
