New Releases Take A Disastrous Start, EK VILLAIN Registers Considerable Drop Too
''Ek Villain'' was expected to dominate in 2nd week too as both the new releases failed to create any pre release buzz. But total box office numbers are down badly and not a single film opened to any kind of numbers today morning.
''Bobby Jasoos'' released in across 1300 screens and was expected to lead but film opened to pathetic numbers of 10% across the board. Film is so poor in north that few shows were cancelled in small towns of UP and Haryana. Film needs a big turn around from evening onwards but that looks tough considering average reviews. As per early trends, film will struggle to cross 2.50-3 cr nett on day one.
Other new release ''Lekar Hum Deewana Dil'' had no buzz and flop music. Film managed disastrous opening of 5-7% and will struggle from here on wards. Film needs extraordinary jumps from evening onwards and even 2-2.50 cr nett on day one will be tough job as per early trends.
Buteven bigger surprise was fall of ''Ek Villain'' as film registered only 10% occupancy in morning shows. Though film is bound to jump from evening onwards but still a big 2nd weekend looks tough.
Hollywood release ''The Fault In Our Stars'' has opened well in metros and was close to 70% in few multiplexes in north. Film is based on bestseller book and might come out with good numbers.
