New Bollywood Releases Struggle But DHOOM 3 and Hollywood Releases Lead
''Dhoom 3'' released with and conquered box office like never before. Film is now entering in 3rd week and that is why few small films are hitting the screens today in 1st week of new year 2014.
Two major Bollywood releases ''Mr Joe B. Carvalho'' and ''Sholay'' started slowly at box office. ''Sholay'' is simply 3D version of cult film which might find few takers over the weekend. Film has limited release in 850 screens. Other new release ''Mr Joe B Carvalho'' has released in 950-1000 screens.
''Mr Joe B Carvalho'' started slowly but film should improve a bit from evening onwards. Same can be said for ''Sholay'' which is bound to improve considering its cult status. But the real box office winner will be ''Dhoom 3'' again this week and will score big time.
Out of Hollywood releases, ''The Wolf Of Wall Street'' will score in middle of urban audience riding on popularity of actor Leonardo Di Caprio and director Martin Scorcesse. Film has started well in NCR, Delhi and Mumbai in morning shows.
''Mr Joe B Carvalho'' should target to collect 1.25-1.5 cr nett on opening day and anything less than that will be disappointing. ''Dhoom 3'' should come out with close to 2 cr nett minimum considering number of screens its hold.
