EPIC Beats THE GREAT GATSBY And THE RELUCTANT FUNDAMENTALIST At Indian Box Office Over The Weekend
"Epic" was latest offering from Fox Star Studio after tremendous success of "The Croods" last month. Latest animation offering released in India a week before its international release, a kind of norm these days with Hollywood in India.
"Epic" collected 3.60 cr gross (2.52 cr nett) over the opening weekend which was way higher than other two Hollywood releases "The Reluctant Fundamentalist" and "The Great Gatsby" despite one had local super star and other had contemporary theme.
This also means that "Epic" is 5th best animation opening in India after "The Croods", "Madagascar 3", "Kung Fu Panda 2" and "Ice Age 4".
"The Reluctant Fundamentalist" and "The Great Gatsby" were complete washouts despite considerable promotion.
