Sunday, 20th Sept 2015, 12:12 PM IST It has become a common trend for movies to be a remake or adaption of other films. However, these days there are claims of films being ripped off from previously released movies. Recently, a case has been registered against the upcoming Kapil Sharma starrer ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon’ (KKPK) in the Madras High Court that says that the movie is copied from the Kannada film ‘Nimbe Huli’, released in 2014. Hemanth Hegde, director of the Kannada film, says he is thinking of filing a plagiarism lawsuit against the makers of the ‘KKPK’. Ratan Jain, producer of ‘KKPK’, however differs, "We had registered the script for ‘KKPK’ with the screenwriters association back in 2008 along with the dialogues of the film as well, while ‘Nimbe Huli’ released in 2014. So effectively proving that my film was ready much before ‘Nimbe Huli’, so how can ‘KKPK’ be a copy?" When asked about his next move about the situation Jain said, "As of now I have not received any formal proceedings of a case being filed, nor have I watched the Kannada film. In fact I am trying to get my hands on a copy of the film to gain a better picture of this."
