HATE STORY 3 Is Sleaze fest Only Fit For Masses
Pluses: Couple of good songs, apt direction, Zarine steals the thunder Minuses:
inconsistent editing, forced placing of songs, underdeveloped characters, tacky camerawork
Critic Rating: 2/5
Business Rating: 3/5
Verdict:
Watch it only for SKIN SHOW
Detailed Analysis: 'Hate Story' made some noise because of excessive skin show by Paoli Dam and then 2nd part also did fairly decent business at box office. Now 3rd part looks hotter and full of sleaze.
Film has cliche storyline, Aditya Deewan (Sharman Joshi) and Siya Deewan (Zarine Khan) are happy couple and then comes rich billionaire Saurav Sighania (Karan Singh Grover). He throws some 'indecent proposal' (that is also a name of Hollywood film what a coincidence because plot is similar too) as Saurav wants to sleep with Siya. Aditya is in financial troubles and so Saurav wants to take advantage of it but Aditya tries his best to save his wife. Then comes Kavya (Daisy Shah) who is on Saurav's side or is she really with him? From here onwards starts the game of deceit and twists. The pace of the film is good in the 1st half and there are enough skin show in every 10 minutes to keep its promise with audience. But sudden forced introduction of songs (which is problem with other T Series films i.e. 'Bhaag Johnny', 'Roy', 'All Is Well') completely breaks the film's pace. On top of that some pathetic unintentionally funny dialogues spoils the atmosphere. Performance wise Zarine Khan simply blows away with her sex appeal and some high decibel of skin show. She looks not only fit but right match for this genre. Daisy Shah struggles even as sex symbol as she neither looks hot nor comfortable in this genre. Sharman Joshi looks misfit and Karan Singh Grover looks like new king of ham. Puja Gupta is pathetic in item song. Film has poor screenplay but dialogues are so bad that you laugh for sometime and then it starts getting irritating. Film has inconsistent editing as film is good in earlier part of 1st half and then goes haywire repetitive in 2nd half. Music is good but does not work in the film. Cinematography is tacky, production design is perfect and costumes are apt (read:hardly there). Background score is very good.
Director Vishal Pandya has done decent job with this one and to be honest he saved film with some sincere efforts. He tries to keep film pacy and interesting despite such a genre, over dose of songs and bad actors. Film released today and it will get bad to poor reviews but it will get good opening among masses due to genre. Film has two open weeks and so the real challenge is to stabilize at box office as this genre tends to open good and then drop heavily.
Go for this one only if you are interested in such sleazefest! | ||||
