Monday, 28th Dec 2015, 1:07 PM IST Music Directors: Shantanu Moitra, Ankit Tiwari, Prashant Pillai, Advaita (band), Gaurav Godkhindi Lyricists: Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Manoj Muntashir, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Swanand Kirkire, A. M. Turaz, Abhijeet Deshpande Bejoy Nambiar’s ‘Wazir’ is all set to hit the screens on 8th Jan 2016. The movie stars Amitabh Bachchan, Farhan Akhtar and Aditi Rao Hydari. The music of the film is out. So, let’s see what’s there in store for us. The album starts with the track ‘Tere Bin’, a beautiful romantic number composed by Shantanu Moitra. The track is quite similar to the song ‘Piyu Bole’ from ‘Parineeta’ which was also composed by Moitra. ‘Tere Bin’ is sung by Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal who had sung ‘Piyu Bole’ too. The song could have been better if the singers were different as it sounds repetitive. Ratings: 2.5/5 The next song ‘Tu Mere Paas’, a romantic number, is composed and sung by Ankit Tiwari. It’s strictly an okay number that offers nothing new. It’s just another Ankit Tiwari romantic number. The only thing that impresses us in the song is the lyrics written by Manoj Muntashir. Ratings: 2/5 After two not-so-impressive numbers, comes in ‘Maula’, a track on the lines of a qawwali. It is composed by Shantanu Moitra and with this one he impresses us. Javed Ali’s voice is excellent in the track. And Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Swanand Kirkire’s lyrics are the highlight of the track. They have done an amazing job with the lyrics. Ratings: 4/5 Moving forward comes in ‘Tere Liye Mere’. It’s a fantastic number with some really good hard-hitting beats and has a thrill feel to it. Prashant Pillai has done a brilliant job with the music. Gagan Baderiya and Prashant Pillai’s vocals are perfect in the track. Ratings: 4/5 ‘Khel Khel Mein’ is the next song in the album. Composed by Advaita (band), it’s a mixture of contemporary music and classical beats. The song has a few dialogues which are mouthed by Amitabh Bachchan. On the whole, it’s a nice number. Ratings: 3/5 The next song is ‘Wazir Theme’. It’s an instrumental number composed by Gaurav Godkhindi. The music composer tries to get a thriller feel in the track, but unfortunately fails. This one will bore you. Ratings: 1/5 The last song in the album is ‘Atrangi Yaari’. Composed by Rochak Kohli, it’s a nice refreshing number about friendship. Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar’s vocals suit the track wonderfully. This can be termed as a friendship anthem. Ratings: 3.5/5 Overall, the music album of ‘Wazir’ has some good and some bad numbers. Ratings: 3/5 Music Review By –
