Wednesday, 2nd Dec 2015, 2:47 PM IST Music Composer: Sanjay Leela Bhansali Lyricists: Siddharth-Garima, Prashant Ingole Sanjay Leela Bhansali is all set for the release of his magnum opus ‘Bajirao Mastani’. The movie stars Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra in the lead role. It will be hitting the screens on 18th Dec and the music of the film is out. So, let’s see what’s there in store for us. The first song in the album is ‘Deewani Mastani’. It is a mujra number, but with a very contemporary music. In the starting of the song, SLB has used Marathi folk music which is quite impressive. Shreya Ghoshal’s voice is amazing in the track and background vocals of Ganesh Chandanshive, Mujtaba Aziz Naza, Shahdab Faridi, Altamush Faridi and Farhan Sabri support the song wonderfully. Ratings: 4/5 The next song is a romantic number titled ‘Aayat’. It is a beautiful track with soulful music which has a SLB touch. The lyrics of the track have quite a few Urdu words which impress. The song will surely take you in a romantic mood. Arijit Singh’s voice is just perfect for this romantic number. Ratings: 3.5/5 After the romantic number, the next song is a foot-tapping number ‘Malhari’. It’s a mind-blowing number and the beats of the song are so energetic that even a non-dancer will start dancing. Vishal Dadlani’s voice perfectly gets the energy required for the song. Ratings: 5/5 ‘Mohe Rang Do Laal’, the next track, is a classical dance number. The tabla beats and Shreya Ghoshal’s melodious voice gel up wonderfully making this a fantastic number. Pandit Birju Maharaj’s voice is effective in the number. Ratings: 3.5/5 Moving forward comes in the track ‘Albela Sajan’. It is a twisted version of the track ‘Albela Sajan’ from SLB’s ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’. For ‘Bajirao Mastani’ SLB gets the Marathi folk touch. Vocals of Shashi Suman, Kunal Pandit and Prithvi Gandharva are amazing in the song. Ratings: 3/5 The next song is ‘Ab Tohe Jane Na Doongi’, a heart-touching number with soulful music. There is a kind of pain in the music and Payal Dev’s voice wonderfully explains the pain of the character. Shreyas Puranik’s voice is wonderful in the track. This track will make you a bit emotional as well. Ratings: 4/5 After making you sad, the next song ‘Pinga’ will once again make you get up and dance. It’s a perfect Maharashtrian number with folk music. The lyrics of the song also have many Marathi words and that is impressive. SLB has done a great job with this number. Shreya Ghoshal and Vaishali Made do justice to the track with their vocals. Ratings: 4.5/5 ‘Aaj Ibaadat’, the next track in the album, is once again a soulful number, with a few high-on tempo beats. Well, this one is a nice number, but fails to keep the level of the album up. It flattens a bit. Javed Bashir, Shahdab Faridi and Altamash Faridi have sung the track wonderfully. Ratings: 2.5/5 Next comes in a lavani number titled ‘Fitoori’. It has lavani beats and for a second you will surely feel that you are listening to a Marathi song and that is something really commendable. The lyrics match up to the music and this one turns out to be the best number of the album. Vaishali Made’s voice is fantastic in the track. Ratings: 5/5 The last song in the album is ‘Gajanana’. It’s an aarti number with amazing Marathi folk beats. SLB has done a mind-blowing job with the music here. And roping in Sukhwinder Singh was the best decision. He has sung the track magnificently. Ratings: 4/5 Overall, Sanjay Leela Bhansali comes up with a great music album for ‘Bajirao Mastani’. Ratings: 4/5 Music Review By –
