Co-producers Ritesh and Rakesh had been to Imran’s Islamabad residence to discuss the project, in October. A source close to the project said, “The meeting at his residence was planned much in advance through a common friend in Pakistan. The discussion lasted for several hours where Ritesh and Rakesh explained the entire concept and shared their plans in detail. The meeting was fruitful but the logistics need to be worked out.” “Rakesh and Ritesh also met Imran’s team member Mohin Khan to know about the other aspects of his life, since Mohin and Imran have been friends for years. They also plan to meet other cricketers such as Shahid Afridi and Wasim Akram to get more information about him,” the source added.
