Reportedly, bylanes of Pakistan are shot in Mumbai's Bohri Mohallah, the house of the protagonist was recreated in Goregaon's Aarey Colony. Many portions of the movie were also shot at Smita Thackeray's Versova residence, giving it the look and feel of Punjab. A source revealed, "It looks like Punjab, but it is Versova. It is easier to shoot here; hence recreating the village was a better idea. Also, there would have been lot of permission issues; hence it was team's decision to shoot in Mumbai. Most of the movie is set based. Hardly few scenes are shot at real locations."
