The makers of Kangana Ranaut starrer 'Revolver Rani' have changed name of the character Kangana plays from Alka Gujjar to Alka Singh. It is being said that this move was made for the fear of attracting political outrage.
Kangana confirmed the news saying, "Yes, my name in the film has been changed from Alka Gujjar to Alka Singh because of the elections. The makers don’t want to cause any trouble; they don’t want to offend the Gujjar community."
Director Sai Kabir informed that the film does not mean to poke fun at the Gujjar community and hence it was a voluntary decision to change the character’s name.
Kangana has re-dubbed many scenes for the film. The makers of the film have also muted out the foul language in the film. A source close to the film says, “A lot of the abusive language in the film has been muted and in some portions, it has even been edited out.
Apart from Kangana the film also stars Vir Das and is an unsual love story set against the backdrop of Indian politics. |
