Pluses: Farrukkh Jaffar is good in brief role, Prakhar and Saara are good as kids wandering for their grandmother, nice story idea Minuses:
poor screenplay, amateur direction
Critic Rating: 2/5
Business Rating: 0/5
Verdict:
Watch it for simple plain storytelling
Detailed Analysis:
'Barefoot To Goa' is crowd funded project and has done round of various festivals. Film has no star cast and has simple storytelling with good actors as USP.
Performance wise Saara Nahar is most natural and shines as promising child artist. Farrukh Jaffar is good in brief role. Rest all actors keep looking in camera which is very irritating and the level of performance is two notch below than TV serials of today's times. Film has nice premise of story but screenplay dips big time in after initial half an hour. Film becomes predictable and finds very cliche uninteresting situations. Film has no songs which is good. Art department brings authentic look and editing is uneven.
Director Praveen Morchhale fails to write well and then his lacklusture direction proved even more fatal for script. There is no fizz in the film and no magic of kids like 'Taare Zameen Par' or 'Stanley Ka Dabba'. Even forced arty climax does not save the film. Film will release today and should release across 100 screens. Film had no chances at box office. Film will depend on exceptional word of mouth to survive as it has no buzz or marketing awareness and that looks impossible.
Go for this one for few honest performances from kids !
