Monday, 10th Aug 2015, 4:46 PM IST Chitrangada Singh, who was last seen in an item song in ‘Gabbar Is Back’, has finally signed a film titled ‘Band Of Maharajas’. It is a musical adventure produced by Raju Chadha and Puneet Singh. The story of the film revolves around a feisty music activist and pop-star, played by Chitrangada. She is accompanied by three young boys who are aspiring folk musicians from Punjab. The movie will be directed by Girish Malik who had earlier directed ‘Jal’. "But while ‘Jal’ was a dark, serious film about water scarcity in India, ‘Band Of Maharajas’ is a musical adventure with a generous dose of comedy," Rahul Mittra, the head of Raju Chadha's film studio said. "It's a wild journey from Punjab to Pakistan, a coming-of-age story for not just the characters, but also their music," added Rahul. ‘Band Of Maharajas’ will have over a dozen songs, a mixture of dance numbers and Sufi tracks. "We are looking at bringing a number of local singers on board, along with established composers. Presently, we are working on multiple soundtracks. The script is locked and we roll this November,” Rahul said.
