Detailed Analysis:
'Entertainment' is hitting the screens and it is directed by debutant director duo of Sajid - Farhad who penned some big blockbusters with Rohit Shetty. Film is 2nd release of Akshay Kumar in 2014 after successful 'Holiday'. Film has rather simple plot. One unemployed useless guy Akhil Lokhande (Akshay Kumar) is in love with Sakshi (Tamannaah). But due to his weak economic background, spendthrift father (Mithun Chakrobarthy) of Sakshi is not allowing their marriage. He asks Akhil to become 'crorepati' in order to marry Sakshi. One day Akhil comes to know that his father (Darshan Jariwala) is not his real father. His real father is famous billionaire Pannalal Johari (Dilip Tahil) in Bangkok. Johari left his illegitimate child long back. Akhil comes to know that Johari passed away but when he reaches Bangkok, he comes to know that Johari gave all his 3000 crore property to dog named Entertainment (Junior). 1st half depicts fight between Akhil's fight against Entertainment for property until one day Entertainment saves his life. Now Akhil realizes importance and love for Entertainment. On the other hand, Karan (Prakash Raj) and Arjun (Sonu Sood) are cousins of Johari who get out of jail and rush to Johari villa in order to claim 3000 crores. But they have to face Akhil and Entertainment and who wins the battle forms the rest of the story. Performance wise Akshay Kumar delivers probably one of his best acts in recent times in comic role. He is impeccable with his comic timings and dialogue delivery is simply top notch. Tamnnaah continues to go down as worst actress of our times, she is as wood as any cricket bat! Mithun and Krushna are over the top. Johnny Lever is good and Riteish makes you laugh in cameo. Music adds hell lot of energy to the film with chartbuster songs like 'Johnny Johnny' and 'Veere Di Wedding'. Editing is slick but cinematography is inconsistent. But the real winner are dialogues which are simply outstanding. Sample few gems - Panka male hai ya female - Bajaj ka ya Usha ka Pankaj Udhas hoke mat baith Rajni Kant believe it Bill Gates ko apne bill mein jaane ke gate se rok raha hai Kitni Shraddha Kapoor se tumne Aarti Chhabria nikali hai Prabhu Deva ki Mahima Chaudhary dekho Kahan chale Sonakshi Sinha taan kar Debutant director duo Sajid - Farhad made impressive debut as they keep balance between comedy and drama intact somewhat in similar manner what Rohit Shetty does. They combine music, comedy and drama in right ratio and offers a perfect family outing. Film will release today and will get opening day. Film will get some competition from 'Kick' but good release size of 2800 screens will give it chance to score big at box office. Film has capacity to surprise at box office and might manage to stay a float in 2nd week despite big release 'Singham Returns'.
