Tuesday, 19th May 2015, 1:20 PM IST Music Directors: Tanishk-Vayu, Krsna Solo, SurjRDB Lyricists: Vayu, Raj Shekhar, NS Chauhan, SurjRDB After impressing us with ‘Tanu Weds Manu’, Aanand L Rai is all set to entertain us with its sequel ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’. The movie stars R Madhavan and Kangana Ranaut in the lead roles along with Jimmy Shergill, Deepak Dobriyal and Swara Bhaskar. The music of ‘TWM’ was loved by everyone and the track ‘Sadi Gali’ is still famous. So, let’s see what ‘TWMR’ offers us in the music department. The album starts with the track ‘Banno’. It’s a fantastic foot-tapping number and you will surely start dancing while listening to it. There is a touch of Punjabi folk music in it. It won’t be surprising if this track turns out to be the wedding track of the year. Tanishk-Vayu has done a great job with the music and Brijesh Shandllya and Swati Sharma’s voice is amazing in the track. Ratings: 4/5 Next comes in Sunidhi Chauhan with her hard-hitting voice in the track ‘Move On’. Well, the hook phrase is ‘Move On’, but the track has pain in it. The music of the track which is composed by Krsna Solo is good, but not great. The highlight of the track is Sunidhi’s voice which takes the song to a higher level. Ratings: 3/5 Moving forward we get a sad romantic track titled ‘Mat Ja Re’. It’s soulful track with sad lyrics. It will surely make you emotional and touch your heart. Krsna Solo succeeds in coming up with a romantic number which makes us feel the pain of the character. Ankit Tiwari’s voice is just perfect in the song. There is a desi flavor in the song which impresses us. Ratings: 3.5/5 After getting emotional, now it’s time to shake a leg with ‘Ghani Bawri’. From the first beat itself this song will make you dance. It’s an amazing track with a Haryanvi touch in the lyrics. This song is a perfect example of the word ‘entertaining’. Jyoti Nooran’s voice and Krsna’s music is a perfect combination to make you dance. This is one of the best tracks in the album. There is also a remix version of the song which is equally entertaining. Ratings: 4.5/5 Well, after some massy numbers, it’s time to get classy with ‘Old School Girl’. It’s a sweet number with a jazz touch in the music. The lyrics of the song are really cute. Anmoll Malik’s voice does justice to the music and the lyrics. Hats off to Krsna Solo to try out something like this. There is a Haryanvi version of the track which is fantastically sung by Kalpana Gandharv. She gets the accent perfect in the track. Ratings: 3/5 The next song in the album is ‘Ho Gaya Hai Pyar’. It’s a romantic number, but offers nothing new and great when it comes to music. The lyrics are sweet and lovable. However, it’s Dev Negi’s voice that impresses us in the track. This track will remind you of the song ‘Rangrez’ from ‘Tanu Weds Manu’. Ratings: 2.5/5 ‘O Sathi Mere’, the next song in the album is a romantic number fantastically sung by Sonu Nigam. It’s an out-and-out Sonu Nigam track with soulful music and sweet lyrics, which will make you nostalgic and take you back in early 2000 when Sonu’s voice used to touch our souls. The music of the song is nice, but Sonu’s voice is the most impressive factor of the song. Lyrics written by Raj Shekhar are commendable. Ratings: 3.5/5 And last, but not the least. Here comes the best track of the album ‘Mari Gali’. It’s an exceptional foot-tapping number with a combination of Garba and Punjabi beats. Well, not just the music, but even the lyrics are a mixture of Gujarati and Punjabi words. This is surely the best fusion created in recent times. SurjRDB composes a track which can make him win awards. Dilbag Singh and NS Chauhan’s vocals are mind-blowing in the track. It won’t be surprising if this track turns out to be the best song of the year. So, wear your dancing shoes and get ready to do some Bhangra with Garba. Ratings: 5/5 On the whole, music album of ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ is a perfect combination of entertaining romantic and foot-tapping tracks. Ratings: 4/5 Music Review By –
