JAI HO Takes A Bumper Start Considering Non Holiday Opening
Salman Khan starrer ''Jai Ho'' released across 4300 screens approx in India and in more than 700 screens overseas. Film has huge burden of box office records and Salman has to make it into 200 cr nett club with this after SRK''s ''Chennai Express'' and ''Aamir Khan''s ''Dhoom 3''.
Film has taken a phenomenal opening in CI, CP and Mumbai with close to 90% occupancy. But north and south lagging behind with occupancy of 50% which is not great. Single screens in Kanpur, Surat, Ahemadabad, Lucknow, Pune and Delhi are close to packed houses but multiplexes are not upto the mark.
One needs to take in account the non holiday factor. Comparing it to ''Ek Tha Tiger'', ''Dhoom 3'' and ''Chennai Express'' will be unfair though film has not huge craze what was the case with last few releases of Salman. Film will improve as the day progresses and good day one is on the cards.
Film should easily cross 20 cr nett barrier but anything above 25 cr nett will be an ideal result. As of now 23-25 cr nett day one looks realistic though such a huge release and jump in evening can change the scenario.
