THE AMAZING SPIDERMAN 2 Remains No. 1 Over 2nd Weekend Too

Hollywood film are dominating Indian box office in big way and May 2014 might see the highest ever box office business in India with three back to back big releases lined up. ''The Amazing Spiderman 2'' was biggest of all and was released with huge expectations but film failed to meet the expectations.

Film collected close to 30 cr nett over weekend and that was only strictly good total considering 4 days extended weekend and release size. Film was not expected to hold too good on Monday going by the trend and that is what happened. Film collected 10 cr nett plus on weekdays taking week one total to 40.50 cr nett which was just good.

Film was expected to drop in 2nd week and film dropped by 75% from last Friday and collected 1.50 cr nett. Film further added 1.90 cr nett on Saturday  and 2.60 cr nett on Sunday thus taking 10 days total to 46.50 cr nett. Still film collected highest numbers in 2nd weekend, better than 7-8 new releases from Bollywood. Film is heading for 54-56 cr nett lifetime finish.

Film has collected $ 420 million worldwide over week one and $ 102 million in North America over weekend. Film is not huge hit in domestic market either and its overseas kitty is getting bigger and domestic kitty is shrinking. This might be an affect of too many films from franchise and remember two more in pipelines!
