CREATURE Is Lazy Flick Saved To An Extent By VFX

Pluses:

couple of good songs, exceptional VFX as far as Indian industry is concerned

Minuses:

uninspired writing, lazy direction, Bipasha Basu looks tired, Imran Abbas is wooden, Mukul Dev needs haircut to start with, unintentional funny dialogues, tacky side actors, below par 3D shots

Critic Rating:

1.5/5

Business Rating:

2/5

Verdict:

Watch it for only VFX quality

Detailed Analysis:

'Creature 3D' is hitting the screens tomorrow and it is directed by Vikram Bhatt and suppose to be the path breaking cinema in terms of vfx quality.

Film has such a repetitive plot with no genuine effort for innovation. In middle of a forest, Glendale forest hotel stands with proud which is just bought by Ahana Dutt (Bipasha Basu). She came to this small village after her father died in Mumbai. Her father was reluctant to sell his home to the builder but then he commits suicide as he fails to take the pressure of being jobless due to builder's connection. Ahana receives guests for opening of hotel on Christmas and one guest is Kunal Anand (Imran Abbas). But suddenly a giant creature starts killing innocent guests of hotel. How Ahana and Kunal along with scientist (Mukul Dev) face this creature forms the rest of the story.

Performance wise this is real shame. Not a single decent performance! Bipasha Basu looks jaded and in same 'Raaz' expressions throughout the film. Pakistani actor Imran Abbas looks out of the place and has really badly written role. Mukul Dev delivers few extremely unintentionally funny lines of the film when he explains about 'Brahma Raakshas' in detail (seriously!). Rest of the typical done to death supporting cast gives ample moments of laugh in most tense moments!

Background music of the film is exceptionally bad and so are dialogues. Script and story are pedestal to say the least. Film boasts of some really jaw dropping tacky moments. But VFX is saving grace which is by far best as far as Bollywood is concerned. Though film lacks good 3D moments but creature does look real and finishing of effects is truly superb.

Director Vikram Bhatt fails to offer anything new considering heavy budget and good concept. He has done ample films in this genre and it seems that he is running out of ideas now. He needs to shift to other genre seriously.

Film will release tomorrow and will get opening of some sort for sure in mass centers as this genre works there most of the times. Film will get competition from 'Finding Fanny' and 'Mary Kom' in metros. Film will find it really tough at box office.

Go for this one if you hard core fan of this genre!
