Detailed Analysis:
'Daawat E Ishq' is hitting the screens today and it is directed by Habib Faisal who gave two gem of the films in 'Do Dooni Chaar' and 'Ishaqzaade'. This time he brings a love story laced with social issue. Film has rather typical YRF plot where con game takes over the love story. Gulrej Kaadir (Parineeti Chopra) is a sales girl in mall of Hyderabad. Though she was extremely bright in studies but lack of finances thwarted her dream of going to USA in order to become a shoe designer. Her father (Anupam Kher) is clerk in High court and he is a man of principles. He has only 15 lakhs to get his daughter married but all good guys reject her or she rejects them due to lack of dowry. After heartbreaks she makes a plan to get married to a rich guy and then file a case against him under section 498 (A) which will give her back huge amount of alimony. After initial resistance father also becomes part of this plan and they target top kebab guy Tahir (Aditya Roy Kapur) in Lucknow. But in middle of this plan, Tahir and Gulrej falls in love but Gulrej and her father vanish with 80 lakhs INR next morning after their marriage. How Tahir find her back for revenge and how they get together in the end form rest of the story. Performance wise Parineeti Chopra again impresses with genuine act as she also gets maximum screen time. She is energetic and natural throughout. Aditya Roy Kapur surprises in a rather unconventional role but he suffers due to badly written role. Anupam Kher is honest and he lives the character completely. Karan Waahi in small role is decent and rest of the supporting cast is good. Background music of the film is cliche and songs are in sync with the film but still lacks one chartbuster. Script keeps it tight in 1st half but again 2nd half curse pulls the film down. Dialogues are strictly good. Cinematography is decent and editing is crisp. Costume and art department did fine. Director Habib Faisal gave such a heart warming films that this one disappoints a little from his standards. Film lacks depth of 'Do Dooni Chaar' or passion of 'Ishaqzaade'. It touches a social issue but the on the name of main stream compromise, it goes no where in 2nd half especially in climax. Film released today and will get opening of some sort for sure in mass centers as this genre has no chance in urban centers. Film will get competition from 'Khoobsurat' in metros. Film will find it really tough to cross 40 cr nett at box office. .
