Detailed Analysis:
'3 A.M.' is hitting the screens tomorrow and it seems an interesting horror - thriller flick. Film has simplistic plot. Sunny (Rannvijay Singh) is successful reality TV host and he has two best friends Cyrus (Salil Acharya) and Raj (Kavin Dave) who are also his TV show producers. Sunny proposes his long time girlfriend Sarah who accepts the ring (Anindita Nayar) and life is perfect for them. Until One day Sarah goes to haunted place for research and her dead body recovered next day morning from same haunted Rudra mill compound. Sunny goes into shock and depression. One day Sunny bounces idea of new show with Raj and Cyrus. Idea is to bring truth in light about haunted places and spirits by shooting there live. After initial reservations, Raj and Cyrus join Sunny for a life changing night in Rudra Mill compound for the shoot of the show. What happens inside the mill forms rest of the story. Performance wise Rannvijay Singh displays growth as an actor and pitches a mature act. Though he was good in earlier films too (Nagesh Kukunoor's 'Mod') but he needs meatier role like this one. Salil Acharya surprises with a real zingy performance especially in 2nd half. Kavin Dave is good but at time he is too cheesy. Anindita Nair is simply pathetic after her equally bad outing in 'Amit Sahni Ki List' few months back. Background music of the film is minimalistic which is a refreshing change for this genre in Inida and songs are in sync with the film but they are too many especially in 2nd half . Script is good and story idea has some novelty to it. Cinematography is decent but editing is strictly average. Costume and art department fit the bill. Director Vishal Mahadkar again impresses after his hit and successful debut with 'Blood Money'. He manages to break cliche of the genre and brings rather scientific stylish approach to the plot. His execution lifts the film and two major twists in 2nd half will leave most of the audience stunned. Film will release tomorrow and should get at least 2nd best opening behind 'Desi Kattey' out of half a dozen new releases. Film will have good word of mouth so if manages some kind of decent day one number then it can surprise at box office. But still a tough fight ahead at box office. .
