Tuesday, 30th September 12:00 PM IST Box Office Report Card Of 2014, No Growth Over Last Year But Last Quarter Crucial Tomorrow last quarter of 2014 will kick off and there are line up of some real potential blockbusters. 2014 was not a great year at box office and there is almost no growth in overall business in first 9 months despite bigger promotions and higher ticket price. There was back to back distinct growth in 2012 and 2013 over previous years but 2014 looks to finish in the same range as 2013. This year should have seen better performance as 2 Salman Khan starrers, one each from Shahrukh and Aamir, one biggie from Hrithik, one form Rohit - Ajay combo and couple of Akshay Kumar starrers hit the screens. But even 850 - 900 cr nett in last quarter can take it to close to 2013 total. Following is the year wise comparison of business of Hindi film box office -

Though surprise hits like ''Queen'' and ''Ragini MMS 2'' did score at box office but then these films do not change the bigger picture. Most of the promising films remained either average or semi hits. Now ''Happy New Year'', ''P.K.'' and ''Bang Bang'' might change that to certain extent.
