SON OF SARDAAR Fails To Touch Double Digit Despite 2000 Screens
First thing first as there are many screen counts doing the round. Viacom 18 & Eros able to get 2000 plus screens for "Son Of Sardaar". So as far as release size is concerned, there is only 18-20% different between both the films.
SOS started on strong note at most of the places. Film had some huge marketing campaign before release and it got benefitted from that. Film did well in North in Punjab, Delhi/UP and Rajasthan. But there was not a single territory where film able to match JTHJ. For example, in CP Berar which is a mass center SOS collected 50 lakh approx but JTHJ 65 lakhs.
Film suffered badly not only due to bad release but even more due to bad reviews and that was visible from afternoon onwards in certain territories like Mumbai. Film is now heavily dependent upon tomorrow as that should be the film's best day.
As per the early estimates, film should touch 9 cr nett and a good late night surge can take it a notch higher. Certainly this is below average figure for a film promoted so heavily and ultimately got 2000 screens.
