HOLIDAY Looks To Score On Day Two
''Holiday - A Soldier Is Never Off Duty'' has kicked off big release season of the year 2014. Film has almost no competition at box office as ''Heropanti'' is nearing towards its end of run in 3rd week and ''Filmistaan'' and ''Edge Of Tomorrow'' are only for niche audience.
''Holiday'' had decent start on Friday morning and with good jump from evening onwards film collected big numbers. Film collected 12.18 cr nett on day one and that was good number but not great considering release size close to 3500 screens. Film needed big jump on Saturday but film grew only by a small margin.
Film had less than 5% growth on Saturday over Friday and collected close to 12.30 cr nett. Film started well on Sunday and multiplexes were good across the board. But single screens were not up to the mark especially in UP, Bihar and Maharashtra. As per early trends, film should collect close to 16.80 cr nett which is a jump of 22% over Saturday.
Film has collected close to 41.32 cr nett over weekend and that was not great considering star Akshay and screen size. But good trending overall suggests that film as power to hold on weekdays. Film can touch 60 cr nett week one which can give it chance to touch 90 cr nett lifetime at least though 100 cr nett looks a bit out of reach due to weak opening day.
