Vidya Balan, who was last seen in the Bollywood flick Tumhari Sulu, has won our hearts with her outstanding performances every time. Currently, the actress is busy promoting her next, Mission Mangal. Mission Mangal is based on the mission of ISRO to Mars, wherein Vidya plays the role of a scientist. The movie also stars Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha, Kirti Kulhari, Nithya Menon, Sharman Joshi, Taapsee Pannu and H. G. Dattatreya in pivotal roles. Vidya has been playing real-life roles since years and thus biopics keep coming her way. The Parineeta fame actress is all set to star in Shakuntala Devi biopic. Besides, Mission Mangal and Shakuntala Devi biopic, Vidya will also be seen playing former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi onscreen. Journalist-author Sagarika Ghose had revealed earlier this year that her book ‘Indira: India’s Most Powerful Prime Minister’ will be adapted into a film by Vidya Balan and Roy Kapur Films. But then there hasn’t been any update since then. When Vidya was asked about the film, she said that the film is not likely to take off anytime soon. A lot of work is still pending. Sagarika Ghose’s book has all the stories from the Emergency in 1975 to Indira Gandhi’s failed marriage, her relationship with her son Sanjay Gandhi and her political career. |
