Monday, 25th July 2016, 07:00 PM IST Last week, Naseeruddin Shah in a media interaction made an insulting and derogatory comment for late actor Rajesh Khanna. Since then there has been a face-off between Naseeruddin and Twinkle Khanna, the daughter of the late superstar. Naseeruddin was speaking about now Bollywood movies have become mediocre and there he said, “It was the 70’s when mediocrity came in Hindi films. That’s when the actor called Rajesh Khanna joined the industry. For all his success, I think Mr Khanna was a very limited actor. In fact, he was a poor actor. Intellectually, he wasn’t the most alert person I have ever met. His taste ruled the industry.” Certainly this offended Twinkle and she took to Twitter and posted, “Sir if u can't respect the living, respect the dead-mediocrity is attacking a man who can't respond @NaseerudinShah.” Well-known filmmaker Karan Johar also supported Twinkle and was offended at Shah’s comment. Apparently, the ‘Waiting’ actor was apologetic after making such a remark and said that he wasn’t trying to offend anyone.
