Thursday, 3rd July 2014, 05:20 PM IST After SaifAli Khan opted out of Abbas-Mustan's desi adaptation of Alexandre Dumas’classic novel ‘The Count Of Monte Cristo’, the makers have decided to scrap the idea of the film. The decision to scrap the film, which was supposed to be produced by Sunil Khetrapal, was taken last week. Khetrapal confirmed the news saying, "We have decided to scrap the film. The script didn't reach its logical conclusion. Kabhi kabhi aisa hota hai." The film was supposed to be an action-thriller which was precisely the reason Saif had second thoughts on doing the film after initially giving it the nod.Apparently, there were already too many versions of the film and this one did not offer something new. "Saif and Abbas-Mustan will remain on board but I will make different films with them. It's just that this combo is not happening for me, neither is the desi adaptation of ‘The Count Of Monte Cristo’," Khetrapal said.
