Friday, 4th July 2014, 04:50 PM IST Salman Khan is set to remake Mahesh Manjrekar's Marathi film ‘Shikshanachya Aaicha Gho’ in Hindi. Mahesh and Salman have asked actor Govinda to play the central role in the film, which was on hold for about two and a half years, but Govinda hasn’t given the nod for it yet. This comes as a big surprise considering the fact that Govinda and Salman are tight buddies after they co-starred in the film‘Partner’. Govinda is said to have spent long hours with Salman at the actor’s Galaxy Apartment at Bandra. The duo were also spotted enjoying auto rickshaw rides at night. However, their friendship reportedly dwindled off when Salman launched Shatrughan Sinha’s daughter Sonakshi in ‘Dabangg’, when he had planned to launch Govinda’s daughter, Narmada.
"Govinda is not too keen to do the film as he feels that it is too arty for his taste. And this is purely Govinda's personal perception,"said a source. "Also, the role offered to him is that of an ambitious and aggressive father and Govinda feels that his temperament and demeanour does not suit the part," added the source. Salman and Mahesh are hoping that Govinda will eventually agree to do the film. They have already had multiple meetings with the actor for the same. If all goes well, the film will go on floors early next year.
