2015 was a year of surprises when it comes to male actors.Many actors, who were known to do roles that attract masses, surprised us withtheir performances. While a few actors with a chocolate boy image opted to shedthat image and do complicated characters, some supporting actors tried theirhands at doing a lead role.
What’s more surprising is that audiences loved them intheir new avatars and helped their films work wonders at the box-office.
So, here’s our list of top 5 male performances in2015:
5) Salman Khan (‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’):
‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ was one of those films whichwe never imagined Salman Khan in. Salman, who is known for hisaction-comedy-oriented roles, played a simple guy next door in ‘BajrangiBhaijaan’. His sweet and simple avatar was not only liked by hardcoreSalman fans, but also non-Salman lovers liked his performance in the film. Afew people also stated that it is Salman Khan’s best performance tilldate.
4) Akshay Kumar (‘Baby’):
Like Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar also surprised everyone witha mature performance in Neeraj Pandey’s ‘Baby’. The superstarplayed the role of a secret agent to the T. From his body language to hisdialogue delivery, Akki went deep into the character.
3) Varun Dhawan (‘Badlapur’):
When Varun Dhawan made his Bollywood debut with‘Student Of The Year’, no one had thought that he could carry afilm like ‘Badlapur’ and an intense role like Raghu, that too soearly in his career. The role was dark and Varun tried something that was neverexpected from him. And once the film released, he passed with flying colours.From critics to audiences, everyone went all gaga praising his act.
2) Ranbir Kapoor (‘Tamasha’)
With ‘Tamasha’, unfortunately Ranbir Kapoordidn’t get the much awaited hit. But, we cannot ignore that he gave oneof the best performance of his career. The character of Ved needed a lot layersand Ranbir wonderfully portrayed it on screen. He was successful in making uslaugh and making a bit sad with his act in the film.
1) Nawazuddin Siddiqui(‘Badlapur’/‘Manjhi The Mountain Man’/‘BajrangiBhaijaan’) At number one we haveNawazuddin Siddiqui. He is the only actor who has shown so much of variety in2015. He played a negative role in ‘Badlapur’, then a comiccharacter in ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and then played Dashrath Manjhi in‘Manjhi The Mountain Man’. All his characters were different fromeach other, but Nawaz fantastically played all of them with equal ease. |
