Monday 4th January 12:00 PM IST 2015 is over now. We got to see some fantastic as well assome horrible films in 2015. But, now it’s time to move on to the nextyear. In 2016, we have many interesting films hitting the screens and we willget to see the stars we missed in 2015.
2016 has many genres of films hitting the screens and fansof the stars are already waiting for their favourites’ film. Well, onlytime will tell if the wait was worth it or not.
So, here’s a list of the most awaited films of 2016:
10) ‘Airlift’:
Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur starrer ‘Airlift’is the first big release of 2016. Based on a true story of evacuation ofIndians from Kuwait, the film is all set to hit the screens on 22ndJan which is Republic Day weekend. It is said that in the movie, we will get tosee Akshay Kumar the actor and not the star.
9) ‘Housefull 3’:
Here’s one more Akshay Kumar flick in the list.‘Housefull 3’ which also stars Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh,Nargis Fakhri, Lisa Haydon and Jacqueline Fernandez is all set to release inJune 2016. The film is one of the most awaited films of the year as it’sthe third instalment of a hit franchise.
8) ‘Rangoon’:
After ‘Kaminey’ and ‘Haider’, VishalBhardwaj and Shahid Kapoor are once again coming together for‘Rangoon’ which also stars Saif Ali Khan and Kangana Ranaut. Setagainst the backdrop of World War II this 'Casablanca' like love story is one of the mostanticipated films of the year because it stars Saif and Shahid. While theformer is the husband of Kareena Kapoor Khan, the latter is the actress’ex-boyfriend. Film might release on 2nd October in which Saif Ali plays a movie director and Shahid Kapoor an army-man.
7) ‘Befikre’:
Aditya Chopra is all set to make his directorial comebackafter seven years with ‘Befikre’. But, like his previous films thisone won’t star Shahrukh Khan. Adi has opted for young actor Ranveer Singhwho will be romancing Vaani Kapoor in the film. The movie is slated to releasein the second half of the year.
6) ‘Mohenjo Daro’:
‘Mohenjo Daro’ brings back the hitdirector-actor jodi of Ashutosh Gowariker and Hrithik Roshan. Set against thebackdrop of Indus Valley civilisation, it is said to be an epicadventure-romance film. The movie will mark the Bollywood debut of Southactress Pooja Hegde. ‘Mohenjo Daro’ will be hitting the screens on12th Aug 2016.
5) ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’:
Karan Johar has once again donned the director’s hatfor ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ which has an interesting star cast. Themovie has managed a casting coup of sorts with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, RanbirKapoor and Anushka Sharma. It is slated to release during Diwali 2016.
4) ‘Fan’:
Shahrukh Khan in a double role – one character of asuperstar and the other of a fan; this is enough to wait for the film. Directedby Maneesh Sharma and produced by YRF, the film will be releasing on 15thApril 2015. Recently, SRK stated that if you want novelty in content, watch‘Fan’; and we are his fans are eagerly waiting to watch the movie.
3) ‘Sultan’:
Salman Khan had two releases in 2015, and for 2016 only onefilm of the superstar has been announced till now. He will be seen in‘Sultan’ which is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and produced by YRF.Salman will be seen as a wrestler in the film and the superstar has stated thatit is the most difficult role of his career. First look of Salman from the film met with unprecedented buzz. The movie will be hitting thescreens on Eid 2016.
2) ‘Raees’:
SRK’s second release of the year will be RahulDholakia’s ‘Raees’. The movie is based on the Prohibition of alcohol inGujarat. SRK will be seen playing the role of don in the film. The movie isslated to clash with ‘Sultan’ on Eid this year. The teaser of thefilm was unveiled a year before its release and it had created huge buzz, probably highest for a SEK starrer in recent years.
1) ‘Dangal’: At number one we have Aamir Khan starrer‘Dangal’. We all know that the superstar’s films are alwaysdifferent - they are entertaining as well as content-oriented – and weare sure ‘Dangal’ won’t be an exception. Aamir has gained some 30 kilos for the film and this is in itself enough to raise the excitement soaring. The movie which isbased on wrestler Mahavir Phogat will be releasing during Christmas next year. |
