STAR WARS Emerges As All Time Blockbuster Worldwide But Fails In India

''Star Wars The Force Awakens'' released in India on 25th December with preview shows on Thursday. Film was released among huge expectations and Disney went all out to promote the big release.

Film was released in India across 1250 screens which was decent screen size. Film collected 1.02 cr nett in paid previews on Thursday followed by 9.08 cr nett over weekend. Film had extended weekend total of 10.10 cr nett including previews.

Film added 4.50 cr nett on weekdays with 1st week total of 14.60 cr nett. Film will finish with 17 cr nett lifetime total in India. Film has crossed 1.55 billion $ worldwide in three weeks and has become highest grosser ever in north America by overtaking ''Avatar''.

Film will cross 2 billion worldwide for sure and might end up with highest or 2nd highest grosser of all time worldwide as its chasing 2.78 billion $ all time record worldwide of ''Avatar''.
