NEERJA Had Superb Weekend

''Neerja''released this weekend which was making news for quite some time for its inspiring subject. Film dominated box office over weekend riding on great reviews and steamrolled other films released this week like ''Loveshhuda'', ''Ishq Forever'', ''Direct Ishq'' and ''Rhythm''.

''Neerja'' released across 700 screens in India. Film had multiplex urban appeal and it will find tough to score among masses/single screens. Film had good pre release buzz and awareness along with glowing reviews. Film opened to 20-25% occupancy with best figures in Bangalore, Pune and Chandigarh. Film improved big time from evening onwards on day one and collected 4.70 cr nett.

As we predicted, film grew drastically by 70% on Saturday and collected 7.60 cr nett. Film witnessed jump across the board and even outside metro it did pretty well. Film was equally strong on Sunday and jumped again by 25%. Film collected 9.71 cr nett on Sunday.

Film has weekend total of 22.01 cr nett and now film has chances to cross 35 cr nett in week one itself with suoer trending on weekdays is certain. Film is now certain to be hit only thing left to be seen how far will it go eventually. Film did solid business in overseas too with 1.5 million $ over weekend. This one has broken dry spell at box office for Fox Star Studios and Sonam Kapoor as lead actress. Hit!
