Monday, 26th September 11:30 AM IST PINK Had Solid 2nd Weekend Amitabh Bachchan starrer 'Pink' was never expected to open big as such films only grow over weekend due to word of mouth. Film had good pre release buzz and glowing reviews. And that is what worked for the film on 2nd day. Film opened to 15% occupancy on day one morning which was low. Film grew from evening show onwards and urban centers were super strong. Film was close to capacity in premium multiplexes in late night shows. Film collected 4.32 cr nett on day one which was strictly average. But good reviews and word of mouth made sure huge jump on 2nd day. Film collected 7.65 cr nett on 2nd day which is huge jump of 80%. Film jumped by 30% on Sunday with 9.54 cr nett. As predicred yesterday, film collected solid 3.78 cr nett on Monday which was negligible drop from Friday. Film was solid on Tuesday with 3.51 cr nett followed by solid 3.87 cr nett on Wednesday and 3.24 cr nett on Thursday. Film collected 35.91 cr nett in 1st week. Film trended strongly over weekdays. Film collected super solid 3.15 cr nett on 2nd Friday which was bigger than combined total of all new releases. Film jumped by 75% and collected 5.49 cr nett on 2nd Saturday. Film jumped again on 2nd Sunday and collected 6.05 cr nett. Film added 14.69 cr nett in 2nd weekend which I just 32% drop from 1st weekend. Film has 10-day total of 50.61 cr nett which is superb figure. Film needed to cross 38 cr nett for recovery for it's distributors which is done now. Film will cross 57 cr nett by end of 2nd week.
