TEVAR Had Strictly Average Day One
2014 proved to be a bad year at box office for Hindi film industry and now we see first big release of 2015 in form of Arjun Kapoor - Sonakshi Sinha starrer ''Tevar''. Film is produced by Boney Kapoor and Eros.
Film released today across 2800 - 3000 screens and that was expected considering the mounting of the film on lavish scale. Film has that clear massy flavor and it needs to score there in order to be a success. Film had almost no competition from ''PK'', ''Taken 3'' and ''Big Eyes''.
Film took a fair start at box office and film opened to 20% occupancy in Gujarat but its better around 30% in Rajasthan and UP. Delhi and Mumbai were around the same mark. Film was expected to jump from matinee show onwards but film were rather flat throughout the day in most of the centers.
Film collected 37 lakhs nett in Rajasthan as per leading distributor Gaurav Gaur and Mumbai looks to be close to 2- 2.25 cr nett. Other circuit looks average too with Gujarat under performer.
As per early estimates, film should collect close to 6.40 cr nett on day one and if it improves drastically in late shows then it can go towards 7 cr nett mark. Now film needs some distinct improvement tomorrow otherwise it will be tough to achieve even 25 cr nett weekend which is bare minimum target.
