BABY Approaches 50 Cr Nett In Four Days
After below par ''Alone'' and disastrous ''Tevar'', 2015 will see first big release in form of Akshay Kumar starrer ''Baby''. Sonam Kapoor starrer ''Dolly Ki Doli'' will also try to en-cash Republic Day holiday aided weekend.
''Baby'' has got some rare glowing reviews and that is why film has opened to solid occupancy in metros and urban multiplexes. But due to title and urban look, film was rather slow in Gujarat, Bihar, CI and UP. Film collected rather average day one with 9.30 cr nett.
Film never grew beyond a level in smaller towns and only metros contributed to major chunk of collection on day two. Film struggled in mass belts i.e. CI,CP,Rajasthan and Gujarat. Though film grew in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Pune.
Film collected 11.17 cr nett on day two which was jump of 20%. Film grew today even in centers like Rajasthan where film collected 57 lakhs nett and that was jump of 35% from yesterday. Still overall film remained below par in mass centers but today metros were super strong and national holiday gave it much needed stability in late shows.
Film collected 15.60 cr nett on Sunday which takes its 3 day weekend total to 36.07 cr nett. Film had advantage of national holiday on Monday and that is why film managed good numbers of 14.90 cr nett. Film was again struggling in mass centers and only good show in metros pushed it to respectable total.
Film has total of 50 cr nett plus in 4 days and now film needs to be super solid on weekdays so that it can cross 70 cr nett in week one. Otherwise it will end up with below average total.
