Sunday, 1st February 11:55 AM ISTBABY Jumps On 2nd Saturday
Akshay Kumar starrer ''Baby'' is unique case as this film received fairly good positive reviews and exceptional word of mouth but due to niche title, over exposure of star and absence of music film failed to garner expected numbers.
''Baby'' had bad numbers in small towns and massy centers though film was good in metros. Film collected 63 cr nett plus in week one which was strictly average total but considering 70 cr landing cost, it was poor.
Film never grew beyond a level in smaller towns and only metros contributed to major chunk of collection and that is why after reduction of screens, film is not expected to score big numbers in 2nd week. Film did average business on 2nd Friday and collected 2.85 cr nett. Film jumped big on 2nd Saturday and collected 3.99 cr nett.
Film has total of 70.66 cr nett in 9 days and with good jump tomorrow film can go closer to 12 cr nett weekend. Film needs minimum 20 cr nett in 2nd week in order to reach 88 cr nett lifetime.
Film collected poor 11 cr in overseas market and thus film is heading for 48-50 cr worldwide share. This is certainly below par !
