Saturday, 5th Dec 2015, 12:38 PM IST IIFA had to cancel their upcoming event IIFA Utsavam, in Chennai, to express their solidarity for the people suffering due to the Chennai floods. This resulted in a huge loss of Rs. 5 crores for the organizers. The organizers had booked hotel rooms for stars from the four South Indian film industries. They had also built a large set for the show. A source said, “It’s going to be a huge loss for the organisers and this change in the plan may cost them around Rs 5 crore.” However, the organizers did not want to comment on this. “Why do you want to talk about the loss? This is very confidential and we postponed our show in solidarity for the people of Chennai,” said one of the organizers.
