Music Review: Music Of GUDDU RANGEELA Impresses Us With Its Totally Desi Flavour

Tuesday, 30th June 2015, 3:52 PM IST Music Composers: Amit Trivedi, Subhash Kapoor Lyricists: Irshad Kamil, Subhash Kapoor After the National Award winning film ‘Jolly LLB’, Subhash Kapoor is back with his next directorial ‘Guddu Rangeela’. The movie stars Arshad Warsi, Amit Sadh and Aditi Rao Hydari in the lead roles. The music of the film is out, so let’s see what’s there in store for us. The album starts with the title track ‘Guddu Rangeela’. It is a nice song with a typical orchestra kind of a music it. The music is totally desi and has a soft touch to it. The lyrics explain both the characters fantastically. Amit Trivedi and Divya Kumar’s voices gel well with the track and their singing style takes the song to a higher level. There’s also a remix version of the track which is quite good. Ratings: 3/5 Moving forward we get a beautiful romantic number named ‘Sooiyan’. It’s a sweet romantic number which makes us feel love around us. It is a soulful track, but Amit superbly gets the desi-masala touch in the beats and that impresses us. The lyrics that beautifully blend romance and naughtiness are quite good. Arijit Singh’s voice as always is fantastic, but it’s Chinmayi Sripada’s voice that steals the show. Her voice mesmerizes us. Ratings: 3.5/5 Next song titled ‘Sahebaan’ is also a romantic number. It’s a nice track, but unfortunately fails to reach the level created by ‘Sooiyan’. Well, it’s not at all a bad number, but the expectations were a bit high after listening to the previous romantic number. However, Chinmayi Sripada, Amit Trivedi and Shahid Mallya save the track with their vocals and make it a better experience. Ratings: 2.5/5 And last but not the least, we have the track ‘Mata Ka Email’. It is surely one of the best tracks of the album. The song is on the lines of a bhajan, however Subhash Kapoor gets a different touch in the song with his funky desi beats and amazing funny modernized lyrics. Gajendra Phogat does justice to the song with his voice. Ratings: 3.5/5 On the whole, music of ‘Guddu Rangeela’ impresses us with its desi flavour. Ratings: 3/5 Music Review By –
