Friday, 3rd July 2015, 3:14 PM IST Nargis Fakhri will be seen as Sangeeta Bijlani in Mohammed Azharuddin’s biopic which is titled as ‘Azhar’. The actress recently talked about her role in the film and said that it is a new challenge for her. Nargis said, "I'm intrigued by the story, both excited and nervous. ‘Azhar’ is a new space for me to explore, a new challenge for me." It was said that she was approached for the film when she was in Los Angeles. When the actress was asked why she took so long to give her nod for the film, she said, "Unless I'm on board and confirmed for a project, I don't talk about it. Neither do I consider anything to be a solid manifestation. But I have to say that when I heard the narration, I was definitely interested." Nargis is not sure if the makers will plan a meeting with Azhar or Sangeeta. "I definitely have to do my own research. For now I have a coach who will help me with what is necessary for this particular role," she said. When she was asked if she has seen any films of Sangeeta, Nargis said, "It's funny you should ask this as I have a few films in my bag right now. I'll be spending the next few evenings on the couch watching a long list of films, some that she's a part of." When questioned if it’s a cameo or a full-fledged role, the actress said, "Where I come from, there is no such thing as a cameo. Every character plays an integral part and contributes to the film. I'll let you all speculate for now. You will know the answer once you watch the film." Emraan Hashmi's last few films didn’t do well at the box-office. Is she apprehensive about it? Nargis said, "In that case, he is due for a hit and hopefully this will be it!"
