Friday, 3rd July 2015, 3:10 PM IST We all know that Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan will be seen shaking a leg on the song titled ‘Aaj Ki Party’ in ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’. The track is a celebratory Eid number and was planned to be attached in the end credits of the film. However, Salman’s father who saw the film with the song attached feels that playing the track during end credits detracts the climax of the movie. Director Kabir Khan confirmed the news and said, "It's a party song for Salman's fans to enjoy and we ourselves were undecided about whether to incorporate it in the film's narrative. We attached it to the end credits and that was the cut Salim saab saw. After the show, he told me that the greatness of the film is without the song." He further said, “You can laugh, cry or remain stone-faced, but it should engage you for two-and-ahalf hours." The director agreed to Salim Khan that the track, which was only attached to get reactions at test screenings, was pointless for the film and decided to drop off. He said, "Only some rom-coms and love stories can carry them off. I've seen some very good films destroyed by a song at the end. You spend two-hours creating a character who's real and believable and, then, seeing him in garish clothes and dancing merrily destroys the vision.” Kabir wanted to make a mainstream film with a superstar which reaches out to a pan-India audience and also keeps the context, setting and characters real. He said, "‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ is my ‘Kabul Express’ made in a mainstream way while retaining its soul." So, the Eid song will be a promotional track which the audiences will get to see on TV. Kabir said, "As a director, I don't need it. I have enough songs in my film. But it was a marketing call and I understand that a big-budget film needs to keep generating content to create excitement in the audience without impinging on my film."
