Rohit Shetty’s Next, Sooryavanshi, Goes On Floors Today

By Reema Chhabda - May 6, 2019 After giving out hits like the Singham series and Simmba, director-producer Rohit Shetty has roped in Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif for lead roles of the third super cop film, Sooryavanshi. The shooting for the film begins today. The lead actor of the movie, Akshay Kumar, has been welcomed to the Rohit Shetty’s cop universe in a very unique way. Before starting to shoot, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Ajay Devgn, Karan Johar and Rohit Shetty took to Instagram to share a photo together. In the picture, we can see the Ranveer Singh, Ajay Devgn and the latest cop of the Shetty cop universe, Akshay Kumar, along with Karan Johar. The three actors are holding the clapper of their respective movies. Shetty captioned the post: "And the Universe Expands...Our GAME BEGINS". As per a report in a leading daily, Neena Gupta will play the role of Akshay’s mother in the film. The shooting has begun today in Mumbai and will go on for the next 10-12 days. After this, the crew will go to Bangkok to shoot the introduction scene of Akshay Kumar. Sooryavanshi is produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, Shetty’s Rohit Shetty Picturez, Kumar's Cape of Good Films. The film will be presented by Reliance Entertainment. The film is slated for release during Eid 2020.
