India’s first sci-fi web series, SkyFire gets a premiere date

By Reema Chhabda - May 8, 2019 Zee5, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited's digital arm, is set to launch a sci-fi web-series 'Skyfire' which happens to be the first of its kind in India. Soumik Sen has directed it which has been shot in Dehradun, Kerala, Delhi and Bhutan too. Reportedly, Prateik Babbar and Sonal Chauhan are roped in for lead roles, where Sonal plays a historian, Meenakshi Pirzada, while Prateik plays Chandrasekhar, a Journalist. They will be joined by Bengali actor Jisshu Sengupta and Jatin Goswami. 'Skyfire' is an adaptation of author Aroon Raman’s thriller 2016 novel of the same name. A production unit member claimed that the web-series will be full of rich visual effects as a top studio is working on the project. 'Skyfire' is produced by Shabinaa Entertainment which is owned by Shabina khan. Shabina Khan is the co-producer of movies like 'Gabbar' & 'Rowdy Rathore' and the producer of currently shot 'Laxmi Bomb'. Yesterday, 'Skyfire' got a poster along with the announcement of its premiere date, which is 22nd May 2019. The teaser for the series is already out and viral among fans.
