All Time Defining Milestones At Box Office, 'Happy New Year' Reigns Supreme

Aamir Khanstarrer 'Ghajini' became first film to cross 10 cr nett after 'Krrish' crossed 5 cr nett on opening day first time. Then it was Salman Khan''s turn with 'Dabangg' and he crossed 15 cr nett on opening day.

Salman Khan continues its magic run and overtook 20 cr nett on opening day with 'Bodyguard' followed by 25 cr nett and 30 cr nett milestones in single day with 'Ek Tha Tiger'. Last year it was again Aamir Khan starrer 'Dhoom 3' which crossed 35 cr nett and it looked tough record to beat.

But it stood for just 10 months as Shahrukh Khan starrer 'Happy New Year' broke record with some margin and collected humongous 44.97 cr nett on day one. Its close to 45 cr nett and now it seems that 50 cr nett opening day is not far off. Indeed SRK has pushed the boundary far off.
