Saturday, 4th January 03:30 PM IST The obstruction in the path of the hindi remake of the Malayalam movie 'Traffic' has been removed. The film's title was registered by producer Ratan Jain, which made things difficult for Endemol and Fox Star Studios, the producers of the remake. With Ratan Jain now parting away with the title by giving it to them, has cleared the way for the remake. A close source revealed - "Ratan Jain had the title and had planned to approach Raj Kumar Gupta to make a film titled Traffic on a different subject. However, it is an accepted practise in the film industry to give away titles as a friendly gesture. So when he was approached, he immedaitely agreed to part with it." The film will be directed by Rajesh Pillai who also helmed the south original. When contacted Ratan Jain confirmed the news - "Yes, we had registered the title but I gave it to them when they requested me." When contacted Deepak Dhar. MD, Endemol, said - We have wanted to make Traffic for over a year now . We bought the remake rights and invested a lot in the project. Then we realised that we didn't have the title. Fortunately, Ratan Jain was very kind to give it to us. Though a remake, we are confident it will work with a Pan-India audience." | |||
